I read a story about Socrates today that really made me think.
One day, Socrates was walking in the Athenian marketplace when a young man came running up, eager to tell him something about another person.
Socrates stopped him and said:
> “Wait a moment. Has what you’re about to say passed through the three sieves?”
The young man was confused, so Socrates explained the three sieves:
1. Is it true?
2. Is it kind?
3. Is it useful to me?
The story the young man wanted to share didn’t pass any of the sieves, so Socrates said there was no need to tell it.
I sometimes catch myself spreading gossip or rumors, but thinking about this story reminds me to be more careful with my words. Our speech should bring benefit and grace to others. (Ephesians 4:29)

It reminds me that our words should always be truthful, kind, and beneficial—just as the Bible teaches. Thank you for sharing such a meaningful lesson.”
This makes me think again about the importance of words. I realize I shouldn't use words carelessly. I want to always display God's glory through words of gratitude, grace, touching words, and beautiful words and actions, and be reborn as a citizen of heaven. Thank you, Father and Mother.
