The Church of God in Singapore joined “Corporate Cleanup Week” from November 7 to 11 2016, collaborating with the Public Hygiene Council. SGWMSCOG led 33 members to guide over 700 participants from more than 20 corporate organizations. They cleaned four beaches: Changi, East Coast, Pasir Ris, and Sembawang. These volunteers worked even through occasional showers, showing joy and perseverance. Their actions reflected the loving heart of God the Mother, who cares for creation with compassion.
Student volunteers gave up part of their vacation to serve, and youth members used their paid time off to help their communities. Their sacrifices show that service comes from love, not obligation. They understood that cleaning the beaches is protecting marine ecosystems and caring for future generations. The campaign addressed litter from drains and beaches that could harm reservoirs. Their work helped to maintain both the beauty and health of their coastal environment.
Over 800 kilograms of waste were collected with over 1000 man hours contributed. The Church was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by PHC for their enthusiastic effort. As God the Mother teaches, true faith lives out in service. Participants were reminded of the value of unity and collective action. When many hearts come together in love, even challenging tasks become meaningful. In every act of caring, they honored the example set by Heavenly Parents.
Such continuous volunteer work shows that God the Mother’s love is not distant, it is lived every day. May we all be inspired to follow this example and serve with loving hearts.
