The Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt and wandered in the wilderness for 40 years.

During their 40 years in the wilderness, the Israelites complained and grumbled.

Because Israel's complaints and grumbling ultimately amounted to resentment against God, God punished them.
[Hebrews 4:8]

do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. That is why I was angry with that generations; I said, 'Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways,' So I declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.'"

The history of Israel's wilderness still teaches us many lessons today.
[Romans 15:4]

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

Christ Ahnsahnghong and God the Mother of the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) teach us that we must always be thankful and remember the hope of heaven, the goal of our life of faith, as we journey through the wilderness of faith.

The Bible teaches us to always rejoice.
[Thessalonians 5:16]

Rejoice always

Amen! We were spiritual death row prisoners, destined for death. However, God the Father and God the Mother granted us eternal life and heaven. We cannot complain or grumble. We are always filled with gratitude, joy, and happiness. We long for the day when we can joyfully dwell with God in eternal heaven, and we live each day with gratitude.

Amen! A sinner who was bound to die has been saved—so how could we speak words of resentment and complaint? We should always be thankful and rejoice in the one who saves us.

As you walk the path of faith, you must never forget your goal, no matter what moments of difficulty and trial may come. Just as there was Canaan, flowing with milk and honey, at the end of the wilderness path, there is eternal heaven at the end of the path of faith.

The Bible records Israel’s wilderness journey to teach us valuable lessons. Their complaints remind us how important it is to remain thankful before God. With hope for Heaven we can continue our faith with joy and gratitude.
