Is the Church of God different from other churches? Here is why.
World Mission Society Church of God is often perceived as different from other churches. Many people feel curious or even puzzled by these differences, wondering why it does not follow the same traditions as most Christian denominations. However, these differences do not come from human ideas, but from a sincere effort to follow the Bible.
The reason for these differences is simple. The Church of God strives to follow the teachings of the Bible as they are, rather than relying on traditions that were later established by people. As a result, its beliefs and practices may seem unfamiliar, yet they are firmly rooted in the Bible.

One of the most distinctive beliefs is God the Mother. The Church of God believes in both God the Father and God the Mother based on the Bible.
Matthew 6:9 This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
Galatians 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.
While this may not be commonly taught in other churches, it is a faith grounded in the consistent testimony of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Another key difference is the keeping of the Passover of the New Covenant. Through the Passover, Jesus promised the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.(Matthew 26:17:19, 26-28) Furthermore, in both the Old and New Testaments, it was God Himself who commanded His people to keep the Passover.(Exodus 12:14, Matthew 26:17-19) Those who walked the path of faith in God observed it, and this remains true even today. While many churches no longer keep it, the Church of God follows the example of Jesus and the early Church.
The Church of God also observes the Sabbath as the day of worship. This is based on the Bible, which teaches that the seventh day is holy(Exodus 20:8-11). Although many people today observe Sunday worship, there is no biblical basis for this practice. The seventh day Sabbath, which commemorates the power of the Creator, was kept by Jesus according to His custom, and the apostles also followed His example by observing it regularly(Luke 4:16, Acts 17:2-3). For this reason, the Church of God seeks to keep God’s commandments as they are written, rather than following widely accepted traditions.

In addition, the Church of God places great emphasis on putting love into action. In a world that is becoming increasingly individualistic and distant, even small acts of kindness can bring great comfort and inspiration. Following the teachings of God the Mother and the example of Christ Ahnsahnghong, members strive to consider others first and practice love toward their neighbors, society, and the world. They actively participate in various volunteer efforts such as blood drives and environmental cleanups, and they also practice kindness in everyday life, whether at school, in the workplace, or within their families and communities. Furthermore, November 1 has been designated as the Day of Mother’s Love and Peace, and every November, members carry out campaigns that promote communication and harmony by putting a mother’s love into practice in daily life.
The Bible clearly teaches that nothing should be added to or taken away from God’s word(Revelation 22:18-19). The Church of God holds this teaching as an absolute standard and strives to follow it faithfully. Although it may appear different from other churches, these differences are the result of adhering to God’s word rather than human traditions. Ultimately, through such faith and practice, the Church of God can be understood as the only church that truly follows the truth of the Bible.
I was impressed by how the Church of God strives to follow the Bible faithfully. The teachings about God the Mother and the importance of the Passover of the New Covenant are very powerful. It is also meaningful to see how members actively share love through volunteer work.
