Many people say that the early Church was the ideal example of faith.
Then how similar are today’s churches to the early Church?

The Church established by Jesus was not a place that merely claimed to believe in Him.
The members of the early Church kept their faith by practicing the teachings of Jesus exactly as He taught them.
Jesus Himself showed the will of God through His actions and set an example for His disciples.
He said, “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you,” teaching them to follow His teachings completely.
According to the teachings of Jesus, the apostles and members of the early Church valued the will of God more than human thoughts and kept the teachings of the Bible at the center of their faith.

One representative example is the Sabbath.

‭‭Luke‬ ‭4‬:‭16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read

Acts‬ ‭17‬:‭2 As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures.

Jesus worshiped on the Sabbath, and the apostles and members of the early Church also kept the Sabbath.
However, many churches today consider Sunday worship to be natural instead of keeping the biblical Sabbath.
Can this truly be considered the same faith as that of the early Church?

The Passover is another example.

Matthew‬ ‭26‬:‭26‬-‭28 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

1 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭23‬-‭26 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

Jesus kept the Passover of the New Covenant with His disciples and promised the forgiveness of sins and eternal life through it.
The members of the early Church treasured this precious truth and continued to keep it faithfully.
Yet today, there are many people who are unfamiliar even with the Passover itself.

If we truly want to follow the faith of the early Church, it should not end with simply admiring it.
We must carefully look again at the example of faith shown by Jesus and the apostles.
Should not the Sabbath and the Passover of the New Covenant, testified in the Bible, also be included?

God desires truth rather than human traditions.
The faith of the early Church is not merely history from the past, but the standard of faith that we must restore today.

The Church of God has returned to the faith of the early Church and follows the teachings practiced by Jesus and the apostles without alteration.
Without adding to or changing the words of God according to human traditions, the Church of God keeps the Sabbath and the Passover of the New Covenant exactly as taught in the Bible.
The Church of God is the church that restores the truths of the early Church and practices the faith that God desires.

Now is the time for us to think again about whether we are truly following the path of the early Church taught in the Bible.

The faith of the early Church was not based on changing traditions but on practicing God’s commands faithfully. The Sabbath and the Passover are important truths recorded throughout the New Testament. The Bible should always be the foundation of our faith rather than human traditions.
