Human beings are social by nature and spend their lives building relationships. Some relationships are formed naturally through family, school, or work, while others are created through shared goals and interests. Where does such love come from? The Bible teaches that earthly motherhood reflects a greater spiritual reality. The unwavering love of a mother points to God the Mother, our spiritual Mother. Even though humanity became separated from God through sin, God the Mother came to this earth to save Her children and lead them back to the Kingdom of Heaven. Her love is beyond human imagination, revealing a level of sacrifice and devotion that only God the Mother can show.
